Mobile Devices Task Force (2012-2013)
In early 2012, our members began asking questions about mobile technologies. They wanted to know what, if anything, their colleagues were doing to facilitate access via mobile devices in their libraries. To help answer these questions, the Electronic Resources Subcommittee of the Consortium created the Mobile Devices Task Force (MDTF), co-chaired by Jennifer Hance (CAMH) and Maria Buda (Dentistry Library, U.of T.)
The primary goal of the MDTF was to learn more about mobile services and supports available to members of the Consortium. To meet this goal, the MDTF surveyed several stakeholder groups: Library Heads, Mobile Champs from member library organizations, and Vendors/Publishers of electronic health resources. Also, as part of this project, the MDTF also conducted a Mobile Apps Review, and compiled a list of 50 mobile apps that the Consortium can easily share with its members.
