Strategic Issues Subcommittee
Terms of Reference
Scope:
The Strategic Issues Subcommittee monitors and analyzes critical issues, activities,
proposals and events, both internal and external to the Consortium, and makes
recommendations to Management Committee regarding strategies the Consortium might adopt.
Role:
Members of the Strategic Issues Subcommittee will:
- Monitor and analyze the provincial government’s activities and plans regarding health care, identifying opportunities and threats posed to member libraries or the Consortium as a whole;
- Monitor and analyze activities of other health care organizations (e.g. Ontario Hospital Association, Ontario Medical Association, etc.), identifying opportunities and threats posed to member libraries or the Consortium as a whole.
- Recommend strategies for proactive responses to identified opportunities and threats.
- Recommend strategies through which the Consortium can position itself for continued success as the health care environment changes.
Membership:
Membership will consist of one representative each from:
- A fully affiliated specialized hospital
- A fully affiliated general hospital
- A partially affiliated hospital
- A community hospital
- A non-hospital institution
- The Gerstein Science Information Centre
Chair:
A chair will be selected from the members of the subcommittee and will serve for a maximum of three years.
Meetings:
The Strategic Issues Subcommittee will meet in person at least quarterly, with other communications and discussions taking place via email.
